New Photos by Lukas Zpira

I recently had the pleasure to work with the talented Lukas Zpira.
I adore his style of photography!

And I’m happy to present you the results:

the keyhole accessory is part of my “Princess in a Cage” act

here you can see my birdcage hat, based on my idea, realized by Le Colonel.

This one might be a bit edgy and I’m aware that some people might not like it or consider it as “rude”.
But me, for my part I love it! I love the contrast that is displayed in this picture.

Spotlight On: Le Colonel

I recently wrote about that I’m working on a new act
and that the costume will be made by “Le Colonel”.
So, it’s time to have a closer look on this wonderful label!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
may I have your attention please and present you
Le Colonel, d’Ordre Exquis!

Who is Le Colonel??

“He’s wild about military embroidery, he’s mad about plaid and he loves lace.
And while the elegant and delicate creations that bear his name may be  inspired by by gone days, they are never old fashioned.”

Le Colonel is a young fashion and accessory label. Their specialty are hats, headbands and other jewellery for the head

Recently they also started with costume making!

The creative person behind this label is Julia Gonnet – a lovely and talented young woman.

Le Colonel mixes the glamour of past eras with modern influences!
And that’s exactly what I like – Vintage with a twist!

How we met:

I wanted to start working on a new show that I had in mind for quite long,
it’s inspired by a very personal topic,
so I started to think about the costume etc.
Then, one day, Julia Gonnet from Le Colonel contacted me and offered me to work with her.
Normally I really enjoy making my costumes by my own,
but after having a look at her website I was thinking that it could be good working with her on this show,
and having this special costume realized by a professional.

So I told her about the idea for my new act, and she catches the image and spirit really fast.
And after seeing her first sketches of my costume, I was completely convinced and decided to work with her!

How is working with Le Colonel??

Working on my costume with Julia Gonnet from Le Colonel is fantastic!
I’m really involved in the creative process.
She is listening to my ideas and is not too shy to present also her own ideas,
which makes working on the project a lot of fun and very efficient!

Le Colonel attaches importance to details! An that’s so necessary  for costume making!

She always keeps you updated about the whole process with sketches and photos!

my headpiece by Le Colonel, not finnished yet,
more costume pieces will be revealed on here soon!

Do I recommend her?? Oh yes!!!

Le Colonel is your choice when:

you want a bespoke costume or accessories which are done with lots of love and attention to the details,
and especially for Burlesque Performers it’s amazing to be so involved in the creative process!
and Le Colonel also provides a lovely collection of ready made accessories, which make every outfit special!

Have a look at their website which is updated constantly with new charming creations!
You can also become a fan of them on Facebook.

Transforming A Nightdress In A Daydress

I love shopping, I love vintage shopping
and I love vintage night dresses!

Lovely lace and delicate silk…I just can’t resist!
Wearing one of these nightgowns makes me feeling oh so good!
And more than one time I thought that it is such a pity just wearing them at night…they would also make lovely dresses for the day!

And yes! It’s possible! With a few accessories, make up and a hair do,
this charming nightdress makes also a fabulous daydress!

shiny black belt for having it more tight on the waistline

black necklace and bracelet

high heels instead of mules

hair flowers

vintage clip-on earrings (which I got in Geneva)

optional: black fur cape&black lace gloves,
a beret could match nicely as well
