In my last article I wrote about Hedoluxe
and mentioned that it was him who brought Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School to Germany
and because I like the idea of Dr. Sketchy’s a lot, I think it deserves its own article!

So, here we go,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
may I have your attention please
and present you

Being bored by the normal drawing classes the New York-based illustrator Molly Crabapple founded Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School in 2005 to show us that life drawing classes can be exciting, fun and sexy!
She describes it as “What happens when cabaret meets art school!” And yes that’s true!
There are glamorous Burlesque babes and bizarre circus artists, amazing freaks and stunning beauties,
naked flesh and wonderful costumes!
And they are posing(between 2 minutes poses till 20 minutes poses) and performing for you to draw them!
There are also some funny drawing contests (for example best left handed drawing or most beautiful policeman uniform) where you can win little prizes or booze.
And of course it’s needless to say that it doesn’t matter if you  pick up a pen and a sketchpad at Dr. Sketchy’s for the first time in your life or if you are a  longtime graphic artist…
just come over and have fun!
Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School became a success and now you can find it all over the world in about 50 cities and 4 continents! So, check out if there is one nearby you!
Oh and by the way…if there is no Dr. Sketchy’s in your town..well, if you want you can start your own one!

I visited different Dr. Sketchy’s and I think it’s a great event.
The atmosphere is wonderful there, it’s a mix between a cozy social gathering in a bar, a life drawing class and cabaret entertainment.
I can definitely recommend it!
So, if you have the chance you should visit Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School!
